Volleyball Season
The PLHS volleyball team’s new season began with the start of school.
The Papillion-La Vista Monarchs started the first practice of the new Volleyball season this august. For senior Regan Beckenhauer this would be a sad season and a very exciting season to come.
“I have full faith in our team this year,” Beckenhauer said. “I know that we can achieve anything we set our minds to.”
With losing a bunch of good talent from last year, saying goodbye to five seniors, this season comes with many challenges. The dynamic of the team has changed and so have the players.
“It is definitely a different dynamic, but the team this year is special,” Beckenhauer said. “Every player brings a unique talent that will benefit and help us compete at the highest level.”
Everyone on the team brings something different to the table, with everyone’s different talents comes competition. Fighting for a spot on the team could be one of the biggest challenges to face.
“There is so much talent in our school and there is no guarantee for any positions,” Beckenhauer said. “So as a Senior I knew I had one last chance to give it my all.”
Playing volleyball is all about strengths and weaknesses and with that comes mistakes and failures. When being a senior and playing volleyball it brings many obstacles.
“Volleyball is a mental game that consists of many mistakes and one of the biggest challenges is to focus on the next play and move forward,” Beckenhauer said. “As a team we will need to find a way to compete and finish strong.”
