The 2023 Show Choir season is picking up, and Heart & Soul are excitedly preparing for what’s to come.
Heart & Soul, one of the 3 Show Choir teams, is a treble team consisting of just soprano and altos.
Performers are looking forward to sharing their theme this year.
“The theme this year is ‘Tales of a Bridesmaid’,” sophomore Autumn Smith says. “Loosely based on the films ‘Bridesmaid’ and ‘27 Dresses’, It’s definitely a fun one.”
Other than the dancing, we have something else to look forward to this year.
“The music we’re performing is relatively well known,” Smith says. “The audience should be able to identify it no problem, and hopefully be as excited as we are.”
For some, Show Choir isn’t something they’ve been doing all their lives, and their performance and enthusiasm goes to show that.
“I’ve been doing Choir since the 4th grade, but I’ve been dancing ever since I was 3 years old.” Smith says.
It’s hard to imagine that singing and dancing simultaneously is an easy task.
“It’s different, adding vocals and dancing with one another is something you have to get used to,” Smith says. “It’s honestly a lot of work and dedication.”
Things are starting to pick up in preparation for this upcoming season.
“We’re currently working on figuring out who will be performing our solos and have been cleaning.” sophomore Favor Kouassi says. “As well as adding vocals to our choreography, we just started looking at the ballad.”
Heart and Souls first showing of the season is coming up soon.
“Our first performance is December 9th,” Smith says. “Look forward to it!”
