The media’s portrayal of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship has been getting a lot of controversial opinions from many people. One of the best tight ends in the NFL dating one of the biggest pop stars is like two worlds colliding.
Junior Malori Watkins has a different opinion than others because of her feelings about Taylor.
“I don’t think she is doing it for publicity and knowing the type of person she is, she wouldn’t do that,” Watkins said.
This new couple is bringing different interests between music and sports fans into motion.
“I don’t really like her music but she seems like a good fit for Travis,” junior Cole Jensen said. “I also like how she brings girls into liking football, it’s a good way for daughters to spend time with their dads.”
Taylor and Travis making a public appearance for the first time gave Watkins and Jensen different opinions. Being a proud football lover and a proud swiftie gives room for very different views on their relationship.
“With the recent videos of her running to hug him and the signs he’s made relating to her song lyrics you can truly tell that they want to be together and they are happy,” Watkins said. “Also when he made the bracelet with his phone number on it that just shows how bad he wanted her to notice him.”
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have shocked many people with their relationship and how odd it is that these two have got together. With paparazzi not ever giving celebrities any personal space, people are left with a certain narrative depending on what they want to believe.
“I think it’s good and bad that they are together, good for the sport of football. But for them being as famous as they are I think they don’t need the media involved,” Jensen said.
While Jensen says it is both good and bad Watkins has a different point of view on their relationship going public.
“I think them going public is cute and that means they think they’re going to last, if they didn’t truly love each other or want something private they would have kept it private,” Watkins said.
