With fall sports underway, senior season is full of opportunities and goals for four year varsity golf athlete, senior Audra Demory.
Last year, Demory had a successful season, ending where every athlete wants to end: state championships.
“Last year I ended my season by going to state for the first time and scoring the best I ever scored both days,” Demory said.
This season Demory plans to make it to state again and do the best she can.
“I would like to finish this year by shooting below 100 in all my tournaments and making it to state and doing even better than I did last year,” Demory said.
To reach this goal, Demory knows what she needs to do, starting with putting in the work in the summer.
“Over the summer I prepared for the season by playing in multiple Nebraska Junior Golf tournaments, playing with my family and friends, having lessons and going to the range,” Demory said.
Golf has been a big part of Demory’s life for a long time. After this season, Demory may not continue golfing competitively, but she will continue to golf for fun.
“I’ve always loved playing golf with my friends and family. It’s something I look forward to and it brings a lot of joy in my life as well,” Demory said.
For many seniors like Demory, this may be their last competitive season in their sport which they have put so much time and effort into. This brings many bittersweet feelings to their season, but the best thing for anyone to do is to enjoy every piece of it.
