From a lone hot dog stand to a hot dog empire, with over three-hundred fifty locations Wienerschnitzel has become one of the biggest names in the hotdog industry. On Jan. 11 the franchise followed in the paths of other well known food businesses by finally bringing a location to Nebraska. The state is officially introduced to the world’s largest hotdog chain, and everything the franchise has to offer.
Wienerschnitzel has a variety of ways to enjoy your hotdog, including: the chili dog, Chicago dog, Texas bbq dog and many more. Not only do they have a large selection of hotdogs, but their menu also includes hamburgers, sandwiches, Tastee-Freez desserts and an assortment of sides.
As far as the quality of their food goes, it is what you would expect for fast food: not amazing quality but it certainly is not terrible. The chili dog and cheeseburger are on the saltier side, but overall each item I ordered has decent flavor. To accompany the quality of the food, the chain itself is pretty affordable. I feel the price is justified, you get what you pay for.
Atmosphere can be an important factor for customers when choosing where to eat. At Wienerschnitzel in Omaha, I personally would recommend going through the drive through. The inside of the restaurant is small, with only four booths for seating, however the windows lining the front of the restaurant do help to open up the space a bit. Unfortunately, with such a limited amount of seating, lines can form quickly in the dining area and inside can become crowded.
As a whole, Wienerschnitzel is a good place to put within your fast food rotation, or at the very least it’s a place to try at least one time. The franchise has a menu with a wide range of options, there is something for everyone. Along with this the employees are pleasant and service is generally quick. Nebraska is trying new franchises, so maybe you should too.
