20 seconds left in the game, everyone is running across the field. Passing the ball to one another trying to score the game winning goal. The ball is kicked with 3 seconds on the clock and.. It’s in!
These girls have played soccer for quite some time, and now it is time for them to try out for the high school team.
9th grader Stella Hanlon is a goalkeeper. She is excited to make new friends and get exercise.
“I’m excited to meet new people and get in shape,” Hanlon said.
She said tryouts are going great and all the people seem great as well.
“Tryouts are going so good, I’ve talked to the coaches and they all seem nice,” Hanlon said.
Hanlon has played since she was younger and has made so much progress over the years.
“My parents put me in, and my dad was the coach, and I just continued to get better,” Hanlon said.
9th grader Meika Moran is a defensive back. She is excited for the new level of high school soccer.
“I’m most excited for the games and new competition,” Moran said.
She said that she thought tryouts went well but she was a little anxious.
“Great, I think I could’ve done better, but I was nervous,” Moran said.
Moran started playing soccer when she was little and has just kept playing ever since then.
“When I was like 7 years old, very young, and I liked it,” Moran said.
Now that these girls have both made the high school soccer team they can have more game winning goals, or blocks. More perfect passes. All of the ups and downs but most importantly they will improve, make new friends, and have an amazing high school soccer experience all together.
