On August 21 and 22, students lined up for picture day. These photos will be put on both their student IDs, and in the 2026 school yearbook.
There are many emotions that students often associate with picture day, but out of all of them a majority tend to feel nervous before having their photos taken.
“I do find myself nervous for picture day, because I’m not sure on how to pose or if I smile with teeth or not,” sophomore Denise Rosas said.
Since there’s so much anxiety that comes with having a school picture taken, students add lots of extra steps to their routine in order to feel more confident when picture day finally arrives.
“By having my outfit a day or two earlier, then waking up early, and having a good sleep, [are the things that help me be prepared]” Dana Torres said.
Despite being nervous, teens often find themselves enjoying the process of getting ready for their pictures to be taken.
“The thing that I like is that I can get ready and look pretty,” Torres said.
While there are some things that students like about picture day, there are also a few things that they think could be improved.
“Probably not doing it by math period and doing it differently,” Rosas said, “I have math last so I had to make sure that my hair was okay for the day.”
Many students also have concerns about the date of picture day, some saying that they wish it wasn’t so close to the beginning of the school year.
“I think it’s too early,” Rosas said. “I think picture day should be in the middle of the school year, or at the end in my opinion.”
While there are many struggles that come with picture day, plenty of students find all of the hassle worth it when they see how their pictures came out.
“I actually went and asked to go see my pictures, and I got some friends to go look at it to see which one was best,” Rosas said.“So I know that they came up pretty good.” Rosas said.
