Stage, singing, dancing and a good laugh. Monarchy, the tenor/bass group for show choir at PLHS, has finally gotten into the season. With 38 tenor/bass voices, this year seems fun! And this year, there is another show on its way, with great components and performances.
With all the cool things about this year’s theme, some things are just super enjoyable with the students.
“The best part of the show is the choreography,” Spratlen said.
But there are many other parts of the show, many of the students who participate in this club, there are roles they could want with the show with all the solo opportunities.
“It has to be the end of song 2,” Sophomore Abel Stowell said.
And with the show being super awesome, the competitions are also something that the participants look forward to.
“Yes, very much so,” Stowell said. “I look forward to all the competitions even if we don’t make it to the finals.”
Knowing bits and parts of the show, the future success and fun is an important part to the high schoolers.
“I am looking forward to having a fun season,” Spratlen said.
The show itself seems small when compared to the meanings behind it and what made the students choose show choir above all else.
“Show choir is amazing and is super fun,” Stowell said. “It means a lot to me when it comes to show choir.”
With show choir, it’s not always about the current year’s theme, maybe it has something to do with the previous years. Sometimes it is the effort and sweat put into it.
“My favorite Monarchy show was ‘Sherlock and Watson’ from last year,” Senior Josh Spratlen said. “Because of our cool trench coats.”
Monarchy seems quite promising this year! This year’s Monarchy season sounds like a thrill. If you want to see the preview of Monarchy and the other two groups, Heart and Soul and Free Spirit on January 15, 2026 at Papillion LaVista High School in the Auditorium. But you can also come and join us as we kick off the season at Linn-Marr High School on January 16th, 2026.
