Lululemon is bringing comfort to many students at PLHS, but may be hurting their bank accounts.

Lululemon has been around since 1998, but only recently has it become very popular. This brand is known for being very expensive but also having quality athletic clothing.

With a pair of leggings being around $100 each, it is surprising when a person may have a closet full of Lululemon.

Junior Jayda Boyer has been spending her money on Lululemon leggings for four years.

“I think the price is worth it because they last a long time,” Boyer said. “I still wear my leggings from eighth grade.”

But, if you can’t afford to spend $100 on a single pair of leggings, there are other alternatives.

“There are other, cheaper brands with similar quality to Lulu,” Hoagland said. “There are brands like Fabletics or Gym Shark that some people think are just as good.”

Most people found the joy of Lululemon leggings through online influencers, but Boyer found the brand, not only online, but also through word of mouth.

“I started wearing Lulu when I saw it online and my friends also wore it and it became popular, so I tried it out,” Boyer said.

With many skeptics about the high price of each product, the quality makes up for the hurt in your bank account.

“Lulu lasts longer than other brands, they’re better quality and they’re more comfortable,” Boyer said. “Even though they are expensive, they are worth it.”

For senior Jordan Hoagland, Lululemon has been one of her go-to brands for many years now.

“I really like the feeling of their clothing,” Hoagland said. “It is very comfortable and breathable.”

Although Lululemon sells a multitude of products, leggings are, by-far, the most popular feature.

“I really love their leggings,” Hoagland said. “I would wear those leggings over any other brand, any day of the week.”

Lululemon is an expensive addiction, leaving many comfortable, but broke.
