Colleges

Colleges

The past 12 years of homework, tests and quizzes have all led up to this one decision. As the school year comes to an end; seniors at Papillion Lavista High are faced with the hard decision of what to do with the rest of their lives. Whether it’s committing to a college or another path.

Seniors who plan on going to college may have mixed feelings about leaving the comfort of their everyday life to start a new experience. It can be scary to leave your family and loved ones and start a new life.

“I’m going to Northwestern Missouri university and I plan to major in business,” Sam Binkley senior at PLHS said.” I’m excited to go because it’s a new experience… but that’s also what’s scary about it is that it’s new and I’ve never done anything like this before and it’s all new.”

While moving away to college can be scary, finally having independence and feeling like a real adult can be relieving.

¨I am going to college in Kansas City and I will be staying in a suite near  campus,” Senior Kathryn Harding said. ¨I am really looking forward to having more independence and being an adult, but i’m also dreading being on my own and kinda worry about the future.”

Furthermore, even though college and the new opportunities that come with it is exciting, parting away from what they’ve only ever known will be hard.

“I will definitely miss high school and all my friends here. I will also miss my family,” Harding said. “But ultimately I’m ready for the future and excited for change.”

No matter what path the students at Papillion Lavista students take in their future. The past 12 years have started a foundation to succeed in their lives.
