Era’s Tour Part 2

Students at PLHS went to the Era’s Tour Movie to get the Taylor Swift concert experience.

Following Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, on Oct. 13 Swift released the Era’s Tour movie in AMC theaters across the world. The movie created an opportunity for people to relive or experience what the Era’s Tour was like if they could not get tickets to the concert.

Re-experiencing the concert in the form of a movie can bring back memories in just the first few seconds of the film.

“For me, seeing the countdown brought back the same memories being live at the concert did,” senior Marissa Rolle said. “It felt like everything was happening for the first time all over again.”

One main difference between the concert and the movie is the atmosphere. At a concert people are dancing and singing, but in a theater, everything is much calmer.

“I’d say they were pretty quiet,” junior Julia Livermore said. “They did a few chants but nothing crazy or standing up. They had good movie etiquette.”

Getting ready for the Era’s Tour, one of the most important things to concert-goers was finding the perfect outfit; more often than not, these outfits were uncomfortable. The movie gives people the opportunity to dress comfortably and wear Taylor Swift’s merch.

“I wore my crewneck I had gotten from the concert,” Rolle said.

With movies come opinions on the quality of the film. For the Era’s Tour movie, it lived up to people’s expectations.

“The movie was a 5/5,” Livermore said. “It was produced really well and I was entertained the whole time. I lose interest easily, but I kept a good focus all three hours.”

Although a movie is not the same as a concert, the Era’s Tour movie still had people feeling like they got to experience Swift live. This film was a success in capturing all aspects of the live performance, making people want to see the movie over and over again.
