GAVIN VEST – SCEPTER DESIGNER
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
The 14-3 New England Patriots have been a very consistent team this season while being led by quarterback Drake Maye, However the Patriots are not battle tested. New England has a 2-2 record against playoff teams with a loss to 32 ranked Las Vegas Raiders. The 11-6 Los Angeles Chargers have a 3-3 record against playoff teams, led by veteran Justin Herbert who has never been able to win a playoff game. The chargers have one of the weakest offenses they have ever had but a stellar defense consistently holding teams under 20 points. Because New England has not been tested yet this season I believe Los Angeles will upset the Patriots.
HOUSTON TEXANS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS
The 10-7 Pittsburgh Steelers are the auto bid from the AFC North, a division that was very underwhelming this year. The Steelers went 1-5 against playoff teams this year with a very underwhelming offense led by 42 year old Aaron Rodgers. Pittsburgh went 1-1 without their star wide receiver DK Metcalf but he is set to return for the playoff opener. The 12-5 Houston Texans are spearheaded by a stout defense and mediocre offense. The Texans had a rough start to the season going 1-2 before beginning a nine game win streak to end the year. The Texans defense has held opponents to under 20 points ten times including notable playoff teams like the Chargers, Bills, Jaguars and Broncos. For these reasons I think Houston’s Star powered defense will topple the Steelers
