Girls Soccer Season!

She runs, dribbling the ball ahead of her, she kicks, and runs, and shoots…GOAL!!

This is what all soccer players dream of happening during their tryouts. As the spring season approaches us, we are met with the girls soccer season!

Some of these girls trying out have been playing this sport ever since they could walk and are now in their high school years playing for the Papillion-Lavista Monarchs Soccer team!

“This will be my 11th year playing soccer and I am so excited for this upcoming season,” Freshman Emma Wasilewski said.

To prepare the girls for this season, there were preseason training days available to the group. This helped with improving skills and getting used to the intense environment.

“I loved going to challenge myself and improve my skills. I also enjoyed playing with the upperclassmen because they are so supportive and they always encouraged me to push myself,” Freshman Isabella Tvrdik said.

With the season just beginning, tryouts are just starting to finish up. The girls have shown off their skills to the coaches all week and will get results on Saturday.

“I am eager to see which team I make. I am excited to have experience with a new coach and a team that I can work with,” Wasilewski said.

These girls are committed to this sport as they have shown all week during drills.

“I am fully committed to this sport and I can’t wait to see what’s to come,” Tvrdik said.

The girls have a lot to look forward to with this spring season going until May. Hopefully a strong season is awaiting us!

“I am most looking forward to improving my skills and playing time and also making new friendships and memories with my teammates,” Tvrdik said.

This season is going to be filled with wins and losses and the girls are excited to officially kick this season off with practice next week!
